On Wednesday September 16 from 9:30 - 11:30 CET MERICS and Bertelsmann Stiftung will host an in-person workshop titled "The State of the EU's China Debate" in Berlin .

At the event, we will present the results of a pilot survey among European companies on how businesses assess geopolitical risks and what they expect from EU policy. The survey was conducted by four European think tanks (Bertelsmann Stiftung, Clingendael, FIIA and MERICS) in cooperation with Europe’s largest business association, BusinessEurope.

Following the presentation there will be a broader discussion about the trajectory of the EU's China debate, from the perspective of industry as well as politics, via a roundtable discussion with key stakeholders. We will also discuss signals from the State of the European Union address which EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will give in the morning of that day.
