Senior Associate Fellow
Rafael is Senior Associate Fellow at MERICS and the editor of the SOAPBOX weekly newsletter, where he provides insights on EU–China trade. Previously, he led the Business Development Group at the EU SME Centre in Beijing and directed export programs to China at Estonia’s trade and investment agency. He also served as a guest lecturer at TalTech School of Business in Tallinn. Rafael holds a five-year degree in Physics from the Autonomous University of Madrid.
