Wendy Chang's research interest is in the intersection of technology, politics and the economy. Amidst rapid technological transformations and increased geopolitical tensions worldwide, she researches how China’s developments in AI, semiconductors, robotics and other emerging technologies can transform its relationship to the world. Informed by her Taiwanese-American perspective, she maintains a strong interest in how technological developments shape Taiwan-China dynamics.

Prior to joining MERICS, Wendy worked as a senior software engineer at companies in Berlin and San Francisco. She holds a Master of Engineering in Computer Science from MIT.
