Lucrezia Poggetti

Lucrezia Poggetti’s research focuses on EU-China relations, including China’s public diplomacy, influence operations and disinformation activities in Europe. She’s also an expert on Italy-China relations and China-led sub-regional formats, like the 17+1 framework for cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries. Prior to joining MERICS, she worked as a trainee at the Delegation of the European Union to China, where she focused on Chinese domestic politics. Poggetti holds a Master’s degree in Chinese Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and has studied Mandarin in Milan, Beijing, Hangzhou and London.
