On May 7, from 09:30 to 11:00 (CEST), MERICS will host a closed-door roundtable discussion with Professor Wang Jisi, one of China’s most influential scholars of international relations and a leading voice in the study of China’s foreign policy. The event will focus on China’s current foreign policy, its relations with the United States and other global actors, and Europe’s role in this context.
Professor Wang Jisi is one of China’s most prominent scholars of international relations and a leading expert on U.S.-China relations and global strategy. He is the Founding President of the Institute of International and Strategic Studies at Peking University (PKU) and a Professor at PKU’s School of International Studies (SIS). He has previously served as Dean of the School of International Studies at PKU and as Director of the Institute of American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Professor Wang is widely published in both Chinese and international academic journals, with his research focusing on great power relations, China’s foreign policy strategy, and the evolving global order.
