Panel discussion at the Kiel-Göttingen-CEPR Conference on "China in the Global Economy" in Berlin on (June 27-28, 2024 in Berlin), organized by Kiel Institut für Weltwirtschaft (IfW) organized in partnership with MERICS.

On June 27, Mikko Huotari, MERICS Executive Director, joined the panel on "Overcapacities in China: A Threat to the Industrial Base in the West"  with the following speakers:

• Franziska Brantner, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK)
• Wolfgang Niedermark, Member of the Executive Board of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) 
• Moritz Schularick, President of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
